The official Budget 2027 speech announces a RM30 million MDEC fund to help 4,000 micro, small and medium enterprises adopt AI and automate operations. It also states that the programme will train and certify 5,000 AI professionals.
An announcement is not an application window
The budget speech establishes the announced direction and figures. It does not by itself provide an application opening, individual award amount, eligibility decision or reimbursement approval. This editorial review has not verified an open application window or complete programme rules.
Businesses should obtain current guidance directly from MDEC before relying on support or incurring expenditure in anticipation of funding. Do not assume that every AI purchase qualifies.
Prepare the business case now
AIO suggests choosing one recurring task, describing its present difficulties and identifying the person responsible. Record the existing workload, information sources and desired improvement.
